Where is Partageuse?

Augusta 1

Just like Janus Island in yesterdays blog, the town of Partageuse in ML Stedman’s novel “The Light between Oceans” is fictitious. It’s nearest equivalent in real life is the town of Augusta, about 8km from Cape Leeuwin in the southwest of Western Australia. You can find a lighthouse in Augusta – in the stained glass window of Lumen Christi (Light of Christ) church.

  2. Huh, well there you go, I have just started to read The Light Between Oceans and decided to Google Partageuse because I didn’t remember this town when we were there in 2010, lucky I went with Google and not maps, cos I would still be looking !!! 😁
