Steam to Electricity

Another vintage engine that we liked on our recent visit to Dardanup Heritage Park south of Perth was this large Belliss & Morcom steam engine (on the right) which drove the General Electric generator on the left.

It originally operated in Northcliffe, south of Dardanup, supplying electric power for the sawmill and town. You can see the large pistons through transparent covers on the side of the engine.
