Monet – Anniversary

The great French Impressionist artist Claude Monet died on 5 December 1926. We saw this sculpture of him beside the River Epte in the village of Giverny. Monet lived in Giverny for the second half of his life and painted many of his most famous artworks there.

The River Epte is featured in some of his paintings. The sculpture is by Daniel Goupil and was unveiled in 2007.
