Water Walkers


We went for a walk around Lake Claremont yesterday. This secluded suburban lake is one of our favourite places for seeing waterbirds in Perth. The lake dries out in summer and the water level is already getting quite low. However there are still plenty of interesting birds to look at.


Yesterday we saw this Yellow-billed Spoonbill. There were also lots of amusingly long legged Black-winged Stilts. The one below is a juvenile, which hadn’t yet developed the distinctive colours of the adults – which you can see in one of our previous blog entries about birds at Lake Claremont.
