Funiculi Funicula

These long stairs at the quarantine station in Sydney have an interesting past. They are known as the Funicular Stairway, and go up the hillside where there used to be a funicular railway. The railway was used to transport luggage and supplies from the wharf to the accommodation  area, from 1914 until the 1950s.
