The cemeteries of Paris are great tourist attractions, and are well worth a visit. The most famous is Pere Lachaise, which gets quite crowded on weekends. But there are others that attract very few visitors.
On our recent visit to Paris, we went to Picpus cemetery, which is a small private cemetery at 35 rue due Picpus. During the French Revolution there was a very active guillotine in the nearby Place de la Nation. The remains of over 1300 guillotined people are now in Picpus cemetery.
