Birds of a Feather


Here is a sample of the wildlife that you can see at Mabel Talbot Reserve in Jolimont, Perth. The ex-swamp is surrounded by lawn and houses, but the water birds don’t seem to be bothered by that. Those are Australian Wood Ducks above.


At present many of the birds have young to look after, like the Eurasian Coot above, the Grey Teal family below and the Black Swans that we featured a few days back.


There are also Hardheads (below) and Blue-billed Ducks.


And if you don’t know a grebe from a coot, there are bird identification signs to explain what species hang around in this small lake.
