From Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens, featured in yesterday’s blog entry, we walked downhill to St John’s Cathedral. It was built in 1847-9 to be a parish church, and later enlarged to become the cathedral.

A mosaic picture in the floor includes this eagle, which is a  traditional symbol of St John the Evangelist. The eagle is a local white bellied sea eagle.
