The soldiers above are from a royal building of the Assyrian King Sennacherib in Nineveh, and date from about 700BCE. The carving on the Roman sarcophagus below tells the story of Jonah and the whale. It dates from about 300CE. Jonah was on his way to Nineveh when he was swallowed by the whale.
