There are plenty of interesting items on display in the ‘War at Sea’ exhibition at the West Australian Maritime Museum. We stopped to look closely at the strange looking object above. It is a picture frame that was made by a German prisoner of war. The carvings include both Australian and German motifs.
The World War I uniforms below are interesting, since they are not exactly uniform. Sailors with different responsibilities wore different outfits. From left to right, these are the uniforms of a signalman, a torpedo man and a stoker.
