This diorama is another display that we liked at the ‘War at Sea‘ exhibition at the Western Australian Maritime Museum. It depicts the 1st Royal Australian Naval Bridging Train (1st RANBT) at Suvla Beach, Gallipoli during World War I.
This engineering unit built wharves and a light railway, carried out repairs and unloaded supplies. They also undertook “a range of tasks that no other Allied unit could or would do”. The exhibition runs through to 29 May.
