Seeing is Believing

Today is the feast day of St Thomas, the Apostle who wouldn’t believe what the others told him unless he saw it with his own eyes. That’s why he is sometimes nicknamed doubting Thomas.

His feast day is literally a moveable feast – it used to be on 21 December, but was moved to 3 July to avoid messing up the Christmas celebrations. This statue of St Thomas is in San Giovanni in Laterano in Rome.
