Suburban Wildlife

We are always amazed at the way wildlife, especially birds, can adapt to life in suburbia. We noticed this pretty little kingfisher sitting on a metal handrail at Subiaco Common in Perth’s western suburbs on the weekend. It was beside the man-made ornamental lake, presumably waiting for a snack to swim past. We think it’s a young female Sacred Kingfisher.
