Where there’s a Will

We also ran into William Shakespeare during our visit to Sydney in May. This is the Shakespeare Room at the State Library of New South Wales. The mock Tudor room was built in the 1940s and has many books by and about Shakespeare.

We especially liked the stained glass windows, which depict the Seven Ages of Man, from “As You Like It”. The first two are shown below – “At first the infant, mewling and puking in his nurse’s arms. Then the whining school-boy with his satchel”.
