The Slender Banksia trees in the bushland of Perth’s Bold Park still have plenty of bright yellow flower heads.
The flowers are very popular with birds, like the White-cheeked Honeyeater above, and also with bees.
Recently we’ve noticed plenty of wildlife eating nectar from the showy Banksia flowers that are in season at present. The New Holland Honeyeater above was on a Bull Banksia at Alexandra Bridge, south of Perth. And the Slender Banksia (aka Candle Banksia) flowers at Bold Park are loaded with bees.
